The charming Hanseatic city of Hattem, located on the river IJssel and bordering on the ‘Veluwe’ (woodlands), offers a wealth of history and culture. With its picturesque city centre, cobbled streets and countless historical sights, Hattem is a city full of stories waiting to be discovered and a city walk is the perfect way to do this. At Visit Hattem some 20 enthusiastic guides are ready to take you on a journey through the most fascinating stories of this beautiful city.
Explore Hattem on foot
During a city walk through Hattem a guide will take you along the most beautiful places in the city. You will hear fascinating stories and funny anecdotes about Hattem, and learn more about the rich history and the historical figures that have shaped Hattem into the city it is today. For example, you will walk past iconic locations such as the ‘Grote of Andreaskerk’, the ‘Voerman Stadsmuseum’ or the ‘Dijkpoort’, the iconic city gate from the 14th century.
Discover Hattem in another way
In addition to the historical city walk, you can also opt for a unique ‘Wievenwandeling’. During this walk, you will see Hattem through the eyes of inspiring Hattem women who left their marks on the city throughout the centuries.
