A surprising 24-hour-tour of experiences. 24H Hanze is a unique way to get to know Hattem’s hotspots in a creative way. Museums and monuments open their doors and organise all kinds of activities. 24H Hanze offers a fantastic chance to experience everything that Hanseatic city Hattem has to offer and all of that within 24 hours.
The Hattem museums will have their audiences experience the museums in an unusual way. Thus you can enjoy a Museum dinner in the Voerman Museum. And you will discover more about the Middle Ages on a floating pop-up museum. Go and explore with your torch the Hanseatic cities calendar plates by Anton Pieck and enjoy the special recitation of “All 1001 Nights stories’’. There will also be hop-on hop-off tours and a Hanseatic treasure hunt in the Anton Pieck Museum. Wind corn mill De Fortuin organises a 24-hour-marathon turning of the mill and will also be open for visits at night. Moreover the mill will be beautifully lit up both inside and out. Via Visit Hattem you can play Colonists of Hanze, i.e. a live version of the famous board game in which players collect resources and exchange them with each other; all this live in Hattem’s inner city.
Hansa Bedtime Stories
Recitation of Hanseatic stories in the Luxury Room of Apart Hotel will transport you to earlier times in Hattem. An interactive narrative will take you along in the life of Hannes and his Hanseatic story.
Musical surprises
On Friday a unique Hanseatic Night Concert will be given by the Huygens Consort and in the Open Poort you can enjoy performances by various choirs. Musical society Ontwaakt organises ‘’KleurRIJK’’ (“Colourful”) in the Andreaskerk. A musical experience in the light of a Hanseatic city with a nod to the rich history of the area, art, the inhabitants, dreams and the future.
Museum ship de Vlotburg
From 6th September up to and including 16th October you can visit the Museum ship on the Schipperswal. Here you can discover medieval life close by. On the travelling castle ship of 50 metres length, there will be an extensive exhibition with lifelike scenes of the ways in which people ate, what kind of clothes they wore and the various crafts and medieval customs.
